The Loire Valley in France is famous for its wines and there are wines here to suit everyone's taste whether you prefer Rose, Red or White wine there is most likely a wine here for you, as there are literally hundreds of vineyards in the Loire valley. The wine producers and merchants are more than happy to let you taste their wines and lots of them do tours and tasting everyday. A wine tasting in France is called a degustation. Most of the vineyards listed below are within easy driving distance from our Gites and Houses. After all what what could be better than buying some lovely French wine and taking it home, whether home after your holiday to remind you of your holiday in France or back to your gite, why not both? French wine in the local supermarket starts at about 65p per bottle but if you buy in bulk from the merchants and producers you may be able to buy better vintage (year) wine for not to much more.
