Le Mans has been famous for it's 24 hour endurance race since 1923 all the big manufactures have been there or are there Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar, Mercedes plus many many more. Technical checks take place on the Place Des Jacobins on the 12 & 13 of June followed by the qualifying rounds on the 14th & 15th the racing drivers parade through the town on the 16th of June the race itself is on the 17th & 18th of June. Le Mans is a beautiful city besides the fact that once a year it holds its 24 hour motor race below are a couple of pictures of the church at Le Mans and the old quarter when I have more time I will add more about Le Mans to this page but Le mans is a lovely city and certainly worth a days outing or excursion if you are holidaying with us either in our gite accommodation at The Pool House or La Doliniere at Jarze, Maine et Loire. Le Mans is approximately 45 miles average from all three of our self catering holiday gites in France so whether you have come for a holiday in France or just to watch the Le Mans 24 hour race you are well situated to get to Le Mans on very good fast roads.
